Right now, my home town, Patuxent River Naval Air Station, and the DC Navy Yard are without power
Any ideas?
I know we have a few NoVA, DC, MD folks here. Everyone ok?

edit: 1:30pm I've heard there was an explosion at the SMECO substation in Ryceville (Mechanicsville) which would explain a bunch of the power outages in Maryland, but certainly not College Park and D.C.

Southern Maryland Electric Company (SMECO)'s outage map shows approximately 21,832 customers without power. Spokesperson Tom Denison says the outage is due to a transmission line problem that they are trying to track down.
