My mother saved a life yesterday.
She overheard a stranger say, "I'm going to take the hemlock tonight."
Being the hero that we all aspire to be, my mother took it upon herself to get involved. She talked with this woman she had never met, took an interest in her welfare, and doing the best she could - took the woman to the hospital where she could be safe.
There are a million things I want to say about this, and maybe I will in another post. But the most important thing to me right now is that all of you, each and every one, remember to be caring and kind in the face of adversity. You never know which of us out there is going to need it just to get through the day.
