On November 7, 1980 there was a full moon. It was the night that Steve McQueen died. It's also the night that the two Purcell children of West Finger, Arkansas vanished in the neighboring Devil's Den. Mahershala Ali's Detective Wayne Hayes ask the big question of whodunnit over three different time periods. The audience of course is mostly asking if Nick Pizzolatto can recapture the spark of the much praised season 1 of True Detective. We once again find ourselves dealing with time, memory, and murder back in a rural south. Though with the Nortwest Arkansas that Pizzolatto lived in for many years filling in for season one's Louisiana.
Let's put our heads together and figure out what happened to the Purcell children and if Pizzolatto bites the bullet and goes full Lovecraft finally (he won't)
